The Colin Chataway Trophy, organised by The Dorset Golf Captains, was inaugurated in 1982 with the aim of encouraging and helping boys and girls aged 16, and under, with their etiquette and interpretation of the Rules of Golf. The event is a stableford team competition which is open to all clubs in Dorset, which may enter one or two teams of four youngsters. The team with the highest aggregate score (all four scores to count) wins the competition. It is a very popular competition played in a competitive spirit whilst also fulfilling its educational aims. Indeed, its alumnae include a number of current tournament professionals, club professionals and county players. The event is hosted by a different club in the county each year. |

Held on WEDNESDAY 31st JULY 2024 at ASHLEY WOOD GOLF CLUB. Course in superb condition allowing excellent golf. Little breeze but definitely hot!. Excellent scores were returned by many players who were gratefult for the sustainance and refreshments on returning to the club house. The players and the organisers wish to thank the Golf Club committee, the greens staff and the caterers for their excellent support but the biggest thanks go to Steve Sanger who ensured that the whole event ran smoothly and that the results were provided quickly.
